An approximately 3-4 day old fawn. FAWN SEASON 2013 IS HERE! This is the time of year deer are having their fawns. Fawns' defense for the first 6-8 weeks of their lives is to lie motionless. They have little scent and great camouflage. Their moms leave them alone for very long periods of time so not to attract predators to them. If Mom thinks she has a safe spot, even if that is leaned up against your deck, she may leave her fawn there for days, only nursing it a couple times a day when no one is looking. While fawns are adorable and trusting, please resist the urge to kidnap! Fawns belong with their moms. If you find a fawn or any other wild animal you think may need help CALL US IMMEDIATELY! (715-362-WILD)We will be able to help you determine if the animal is truly in need of help or should be left alone.
